A secluded Danish village on the West Coast provided the humble beginnings for the Stauning Whisky brand. In 2005, nine ambitious friends - a doctor, a chef, a butcher, a teacher, a helicopter pilot, and four engineers - embarked on a journey, armed with their passion and curiosity.
The goal? To create a truly Danish whisky that rivalled the world's finest.
With only the bare minimum resources available, the team had to get creative and resourceful, using what was available to them: the land, the sea, the fields, the heather, the peat, and the finest water in Denmark.
Despite the challenges, their persistence paid off when, in late August of 2006, the first drops of their hard work were finally ready.

Stauning Kaos
Stauning Kaosis a distinctive Danish triple malt whisky, crafted with a marriage of their signature rye, single malt, and heather and peat smoked single malt. This blend creates a complex yet smooth taste, adding hints of smoke, spice & sweet citrus fruits.
Matured in virgin American white oak barrels and first-fill fortified wine & spirits casks, KAOS embodies a distinctly Danish approach to whisky: intentional, sustainable, and timeless. Crafted from 100% locally sourced, floor-malted Danish rye and barley, and double distilled in 24 small, direct-fired copper pot stills, this whisky delivers a rich and layered experience.

Stauning El Clasico
A Nordic whisky demon with Iberian blood flowing through its veins. Stauning El Clásico is a matured rye whisky that has additionally been aged in vermouth casks.
Rye whisky and sweet vermouth have always made a strong line-up in the iconic cocktail Manhattan. Stauning wanted to capture that magic in their rye whisky. So, the matured whisky got a finish on vermouth casks, and the experiment turned out more than successful: A warm-blooded whisky with a deep, amber colour and a sweet aftertaste with a touch of bitter botanicals. Perfect for an exclusive cocktail or enjoyed as neat.
The result is a warm and intense taste of newly-harvested grains with a spicy and bittersweet aftertaste. A classic is born.
Stauning Bastard
The wind from the North Sea mixes blood with the desert of Mexico in this double-distilled rye whisky aged in old mezcal casks. An illegal love affair with a gentle and exotic aftertaste.
Stauning Bastard a rye whisky made purely of local ingredients, malted on the floor at Stauning distillery and double-distilled in flame-heated pot stills. After at least three years in new, toasted virgin American oak casks, it has been rounded off with at least 6-months ageing in old mezcal casks from Mexican Oro de Oaxaca.
The result is an elegant love child whose equal you won't find anywhere else in this world.
