Of all the distilleries in the UK and Ireland, Bushmills has the best claim to being the oldest (legal), thanks to the license granted by King James I in 1608 to County Antrim.
Bushmills itself became a registered company in 1784 and continues to produce some of Irelands most widespread and popular whiskeys.
