Cask:  1st Fill Bourbon & Refill Hogshead

Benrinnes 'The Eagle', this small batch whisky is bottled by James Eadie and is named for the local pub frequented and owned by James Eadie's founder in the late 1800's

A classic speyside, this is full flavoured, rounded and buttery whisky, with plenty of apple, vanilla, honey and biscuity flavours.

About the distillery

Benrinnes distillery is found on the outskirts of Aberlour, tucked away on the lower slopes of Speyside's 'The Ben' mountain. Benrinnes is highly sought after Single Malt by blenders for it's rich, weighty, malty style which becomes the very top notes of some of the world's finest blended scotch whiskies.

The distillery is also famed for its 'Partial Triple Distillation'. Benrinnes has six stills which work in two sets of three - a wash still, a feints still and a spirits still in each. Cuts from every still are taken and combined for re-distillation a second, third or even fourth time across the different stills to increase copper contact with the lighter spirit and ensure a heartier distillate is produced. This intricate and complicated process is also used at Springbank and Mortlach to achieve a similarly malty, weighty spirit.
