James Eadie Linkwood 10-Year-Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky, 46%

Cask:  Re-charred Hogsheads

Asmall batch of only 1182 bottles, 'The Peacock' is a pretty bottle of whisky inside and out.  This is very much Linkwood in style, with beautifully tangy orange and lime citrus, a dusting of sherbet lemon, pear drops and buttery shortbread.  There's a marshwmallow sweetness to the palate which nonetheless keeps its Linkwood tang.  Lemongrass, sweet croissant and a touch of white pepper peep out on the finish.

About the distillery

Linkwood's peachy, light, floral and pretty style of whisky has made it a consistently attractive Single Malt for use in blends over its history. Linkwood was established in 1821 on the outskirts of Elgin but only started production in 1824. It was encorporated into the dominant Distillers Company Limited in the 1930s, during who's tenure a new distillery was constructed on the same site in 1972. The original distillery was withdrawn from production in 1985, and instead was used by new owners Diageo as an experimental site to research the more detailed science of distilling.
