It is rumoured that Ireland has been distilling whisky (or Whiskey) for longer than Scotland. Indeed, the oldest licensed whisky distillery is found in Northern Ireland, not Scotland. With this exceptionally long history of distillation, a variety of styles, and an ever-growing number of distilleries, bottlers and brands, Ireland is an up-and-coming powerhouse of whiskey production.
