The iconic Laphroaig 10 Cask Strength is the purest way to experience the taste created by the land, sea and air of Islay. Once removed from the barrel after a decade, the spirit is barrier-filtered to remove unwanted char particles. Then, this cask strength single malt goes straight to the bottle. The result is a bracing, full-bodied 56.5% vol whisky delivering renowned smoke with a particular rugged character and depths of sweet and spicy flavour. A dram poured neat is lively on the nose with hints of vanilla, pipe tobacco and leather while overwhelming the palate with toffee, fudge and cinnamon. Splashing in a couple drops of water draws out additional peat smoke and notes of sea salt.
