Cask: European & American Oak Sherry Casks
Tasting Note: Honey-drizzled christmas cake, rich dark fruits, with a baked apple & cinnamon pastry note. A soft, oily and delicious palate with a sweet cinnamon spice and a ginger bread warmth. Toasted nuts emerge on the long, scintilating finish
Hidden away in the picturesque hills and valleys north of Glasgow, Glengoyne takes it's name from the migrating geese which pause for rest on the prominent hill behind the distillery each winter - The Valley of Geese, or 'Glen Guin' in gaelic.
At Glengoyne distillery, patience is king. Glengoyne has one of the longest fermentation times, and also the longest distillation time of any distillery in Scotland. This extensive contact with the copper of their unique stills allows all the sweet, gentle, fruity notes and complex aromas to be coaxed from their entirely unpeated barley.
Since 1833, Glengoyne has produced stunningly soft and smooth single malt of the highest quality. With it's beautiful scenery and very own waterfall on site, the distillery is well worth a visit.
