Kilchoman Sanaig Islay Single Malt Whisky (20cl), 46%

Naming its dram after a windswept inlet on Islay’s Atlantic coast, Kilchoman Sanaig marries the distillery’s signature citrus?tinged peat smoke with a rich balance of dried fruits and warm spices.

This vatting of bourbon and Oloroso sherry–seasoned casks delivers a complex yet approachable single malt that celebrates both maritime power and orchard sweetness.

Production:Peated barley is floor?malted on site and fermented for 90?hours, then double?distilled in small copper stills before maturation in bourbon barrels and Oloroso butts supplied direct from Buffalo Trace and Bodega Miguel Martin.

Pairing Suggestions:Delicious with smoked salmon canapés or grilled chorizo, it also lifts hearty mushroom risottos and aged Gouda to new heights.

Tasting Note:Fragrant heather and orange peel on the nose give way to spiced orchard fruits, toffee and dark chocolate, all underpinned by waves of rich peat smoke and a lingering cinnamon?clove finish.

Origin:Islay, Scotland

Alcohol:46.0%

About the distillery

Kilchoman is more than a distillery, it’s the Wills family’s labour of love, and their passion resonates in every drop. Established in 2005 by Anthony and Kathy Wills, Kilchoman revitalised the traditional farm distilling ethos on Islay, an island famed for its smoky single malts. Today, their sons James, George, and Peter carry forward the family’s commitment to excellence, overseeing sales and marketing while Anthony acts as Master Distiller and Kathy runs the welcoming Visitor Centre.

Central to Kilchoman’s identity is their “100% Islay” philosophy, a hallmark of integrity and craftsmanship. The distillery controls every step of the process, from barley sown in their fertile Islay fields to the final bottling. This commitment to local production ensures their single malts are deeply rooted in Islay’s landscape and traditions, offering whisky lovers an unparalleled experience of authenticity and quality.
