Tomintoul “With A Peaty Tang” has been made with peated malt barley to give it a deep smoky flavour. This makes “Peaty Tang” very unusual - most distilleries in the Speyside region do not use peat.
The nose delivers gorgeous sweet and sooty aromas of campfires, ginger biscuits, coffee grounds, smoked meats and subtle nettle flowers. The delicious palate has layers of hazelnut, smoky bacon and treacle toffees, mingled with toasted oats, peat smoke, sweet liquorice and a hint of refreshing lemon zest. It finished with nutty and smoky notes of coffee cake, roasted pecans and lingering clove spice. A cracking drop of whisky offering excellent value.
