Distilled using a blend of unpeated Indian barley and peated Scottish Barley, the Amrut Fusion is comprised of two whiskies matured separately for 4 years in barrel, then married together for 3 months.
Tasting Note:Dense and richly oaked, this whisky reveals an intriguing hint of barley sugar beneath soft smokiness. Bold and complex, it starts with a huge impact, then transforms as the smokiness becomes a full blast of peat. A unique sherry trifle essence and custard notes add to the playful medley of barley-fruitiness and intense chocolate fudge. The finish is a bit dry from the peat and oak but balanced by molasses sweetness, leading to a satisfying conclusion.

Amrut Distilleries, founded in 1948 by Shri J.N. Radhakrishna, has a rich history that parallels India's own journey of growth. Starting with a modest investment, Amrut quickly established itself as a leading supplier of Indian Made Liquor, especially in Karnataka. The distillery ventured into rum in the 1960s and brandy in the 1970s before pioneering malt whisky in the 1980s. Under the leadership of Neelakanta Rao Jagdale, and later his son Rakshith, Amrut launched its acclaimed Single Malt in Glasgow in 2004. Amrut Fusion, released in 2009, gained international acclaim by being voted the third best whisky in the world by Jim Murray in 2010.
