Full Port is the very first release of Wire Works whisky matured fully in port casks. The casks are all made at family-owned Dias Cooperage in Porto. Each cask is made by local, highly-skilled craftsmen using traditional techniques, knowledge built up and passed down over many years from generation to generation.
Once the casks have been used in the Port sector they make their way back to the cooperage before embarking on a second career in whisky. The ultimate in refill and reuse.
Tasting note from Manager Will:
Nose: Dusky red and orange fruits, salted toffee and dunnage-dusty earthy aromas come through, like eating coffee & walnut cake watching a Porto sunset!
Palate: The palate is beautifully perfumed and mouth-filling, with those deep tawny port flavours peeping through - quince jelly, soft red fruits, toffee, espresso suds, nougat, cocoa powder, and a lingering gentle smokiness.
Finish: Long, lush, and generous. You don't want this whisky to end, and thankfully the flavours are in no hurry to leave.
