Benrinnes 15-Year-Old Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky, 43%

Notify me when this product is available:

The only single malt bottling produced at the Benrinnes Distillery in Aberlour, this beautiful 15-Year-Old was bottled for the Flora & Fauna series.  Famous for its 'partial' triple distillation, the Benrinnes produces a rich, luscious yet mellow style of whisky, one which is all too drinkable.  This gorgeous 15YO offers rich, biscuity, golden syrup, and chocolate-dusted vanilla latte style aromas.  There are white floral touches and the faintest whiff of peat in the background.  The palate is beautifully rich, and full, with a delicate sweetness and lingering oak spice.  Unctuous and very moreish Speyside single malt.

About the distillery

Benrinnes distillery is found on the outskirts of Aberlour, tucked away on the lower slopes of Speyside's 'The Ben' mountain. Benrinnes is highly sought after Single Malt by blenders for it's rich, weighty, malty style which becomes the very top notes of some of the world's finest blended scotch whiskies.

The distillery is also famed for its 'Partial Triple Distillation'. Benrinnes has six stills which work in two sets of three - a wash still, a feints still and a spirits still in each. Cuts from every still are taken and combined for re-distillation a second, third or even fourth time across the different stills to increase copper contact with the lighter spirit and ensure a heartier distillate is produced. This intricate and complicated process is also used at Springbank and Mortlach to achieve a similarly malty, weighty spirit.
