Glengoyne Legacy Chapter 3 Single Malt Whisky, 48.0%

6 items left

A Celebration of Patience and Perfection

Inspired by Sir Arthur John Tedder, the exciseman stationed at Glengoyne who helped define what Scotch whisky truly is, Chapter 3 of the Legacy Series honours a pivotal moment in whisky history. Tedder’s influence shaped the standards that still govern Scotch production today, rules Glengoyne continues to uphold with pride and precision.

This limited-edition single malt showcases the distillery’s mastery of time, tradition, technique, and the very essence of Glengoyne: rich, unhurried, and elegant. With deep sherry sweetness, warming spice, and layers of fruit complexity, every sip captures the dedication and attention to detail that have defined Glengoyne since 1833. At 48% ABV, it offers exceptional depth and intensity, perfect for seeking a whisky that tells a story of craftsmanship and legacy.

Winemaking:

Distilled slowly in Glengoyne’s uniquely shaped copper stills, this single malt enjoys Scotland’s longest distillation process, encouraging remarkable smoothness and sweetness. The spirit is matured in a selection of refill sherry and bourbon casks, each carefully seasoned and crafted over six years before use. The American oak sherry casks lend indulgent layers of vanilla and caramel, while the bourbon casks enhance the spirit’s natural fruit character and honeyed finish.

Pairing Suggestions:

Enjoy with mature cheddar, venison carpaccio, or vegetarian options such as roasted figs with walnuts and blue cheese.

Tasting Note:

Deep gold in colour with aromas of cinnamon, vanilla, and berry jam. Rich and chewy on the palate with notes of spiced buns, raisins, and cream sherry, leading to a lingering finish of pineapple, dark chocolate, and warming spice.
