Isle of Raasay Hebridean Single Malt ‘Made with Arbikie Barley’ Whisky, 50.2%

“Made with Arbikie barley” marks a thrilling collaboration between two forward-thinking Scottish producers. For the first time, Isle of Raasay has created an unpeated single malt using Concerto barley grown at Arbikie Highland Estate, then matured in ex-Woodford Reserve rye whiskey casks. The result is a bright, lively whisky that showcases Raasay’s island character alongside the agricultural pedigree of Arbikie.

This whisky spent nearly six years quietly maturing on Raasay, with every stage - from fermentation (up to five days) to bottling - handled onsite. Only the finest 15 rye barrels were selected by Master Distiller Alasdair Day and his team, ensuring consistency and complexity. Unchill filtered and naturally coloured, it captures the essence of modern Scottish collaboration.

Production:The spirit was distilled from 100% Concerto barley malted by Arbikie, fermented in stainless steel with DistilaMax MW yeast for three to five days, then matured in ex-Woodford Reserve rye casks filled at 63.5% ABV.

Pairing Suggestions:This vibrant dram pairs beautifully with lemon and herb roasted chicken, warm fruit tart, spiced nuts, or dark chocolate truffles.

Tasting Note:The nose opens with green apple, banana and candied plum rising over soft vanilla and spice. On the palate it offers warm gingerbread, stewed fruits and brown sugar, finishing on a peppery note of pine sap, mint and dark chocolate.
