A bold 5-year-old single malt that epitomises the Meikle Tòir passion for the peated pursuit. 

This whisky stands out with its mainland peat from St. Fergus, delivering a sweeter and more subtle smokiness than the usual coastal peat. It's a complex, smoky delight that balances power with finesse.

The cask make-up includes first-fill Bourbon barrels, American virgin oak casks, and spicy Rye barrels, adding complexity and depth. With a phenol content of 35 PPM, the peat smoke dances beautifully with the rich flavours, creating a smooth and balanced experience. At 50% ABV, it’s a whisky that packs a punch yet remains perfectly refined.

Tasting Note:On the nose, it greets you with a symphony of baking spices, burnt honey, and espresso, followed by a rich medley of hazelnuts, smoked almonds, and luscious butterscotch. Take a sip, and the palate comes alive with layers of sweet peat, dark chocolate, and heather honey, underscored by the warming embrace of cinnamon, ginger, and oak-smoked sugar.

Meikle Tòir Warehouse Manager Lindsay Cormie's Tasting Note: "The virgin oak casks add a lovely layer of vanilla and toffee, while the Rye casks contribute a spicy kick, perfectly entwined with the sweet spiciness and peat smoke."

About the distillery

At the heart of this journey is none other than renowned Master Distiller Billy Walker, guiding his team at The GlenAllachie Distillery in Speyside, Scotland. The name ‘Meikle Tòir’, meaning ‘big pursuit’, reflects the relentless dedication to crafting a truly unique peated single malt whisky—a rare style in Speyside, yet one that promises to capture the senses.

Since 2018, GlenAllachie has produced only 100,000 litres of this prized peated spirit annually, making each small-batch release a testament to quality over quantity. Using mainland peat to create a distinctive smoky, oaky sweetness, the spirit undergoes a process of extended fermentation, precise distillation, and expert maturation. Each cask is hand-selected by Billy Walker and his trusted team, ensuring only the finest whisky makes its way into the bottle. The result? A bold, flavourful experience where passion and precision unite, all in the pursuit of peated perfection.

The packaging, too, tells the story of its origin. Scottish illustrator Iain McIntosh has hand-drawn a stunning design, inspired by the rugged beauty of Speyside, with Ben Rinnes standing tall in the background. The earthy hues, evoking moss, oak, heather, and sky, reflect the natural elements that influence the whisky’s smoky profile.
