The Huntress is the first release from carbon-zero Nc’nean Distillery featuring whisky from their yeast trials. Unconventionally, the clever clogs at Nc’nean have toyed around with this core whisky-making ingredient, exploring new flavours using three different yeast varieties –including one commonly used in rum production.
The tastiest Nc'nean we've tasted so far? Quite possibly...
Colour: Pale Gold
Nose: Cantaloupe melon, fresh grapefruit, Banoffee pie, and honeyed, crunchy granola
Palate: Zingy tropical fruits, candied pineapple, that crunchy barley touch, with a granny smith style freshness and cool minerality
Finish: Lingering fruit salad and a return to the honeyed granola
Nestled in the remote Morvern Peninsula of Scotland's scenic West Coast, Nc’nean is one of the country’s newest distilleries. Established by Annabel Thomas in 2013, Nc'nean has been a maverick from the beginning, challenging the conventions of 'traditional' Scotch whisky making.
The team at Nc'nean are firm believers that whisky does not need to be old to be good, and anybody who has tried one of their beautifully bottled organic single malts will surely agree.
Nc'nean was recently declared the first Carbon Zero whisky distillery in Scotland, an impressive achievement and testament to the huge amount of care and attention Nc'nean puts in to sustainability projects at the distillery.
