Our summer highlight happens next Friday 7th July when Caviste & The Spirits Room converge at Newlyns Farm for a celebration of single estate Victorian wine and single origin Irish whisky.
Kate McIntyre joins us from Moorooduc (Mornington Peninsula) while from County Waterford we are joined by perhaps the most exciting new Irish whisky, and the launch of Waterford ‘Argot’ single malt.
We shall taste through the full range of Moorooduc wines – the first time this has happened in the UK - including the rare museum release Pinot Gris 2013 and the celebrated McIntyre Pinot Noir 2019.
Meanwhile Stef Holt, UK Brand Ambassador for Waterford Distillery, will explain the secrets and story behind their exciting single origin malts. A refreshing Waterford highball will be available as a welcome drink, following which we’ll be pouring some exemplary whiskies from the range, showcasing their terroir-focused ethos.
Mark Bedford’s brother, Hugo, joins us from Crickhowell on the edge of the Brecon Beacons and will cook a whole Newlyns lamb Asador style over a mixed hardwood fire. This will be served with sauces, salads, crushed new potatoes and followed by a cheeseboard and strawberries and cream.
For only £85* per person, this has to be the bargain of the summer.
